A First Post should open with something fun and entertaining and what better way than to introduce and remind many of you of Tommy Emmanuel. Tommy is an unbelievable legend in the musical world. Perhaps the best guitarist alive today. He ranges in a wide array of musical genres in his repertoire. One of my favorite songs and covers he performs is Georgia on my mind. This version may be the best cover I've heard.
It's filled with passion and a love for the blues only Tommy can make you feel. However, this performance doesn't necessarily highlight his skills, but it goes to show how a great musician is supposed to make you feel. A great musician creates the illusion they are performing for you, not a routine audience. If you like harmonica and guitar, this song is a must hear.
Tommy is known for his crazy picking styles and unique use of the guitar as a percussive instrument. He takes advantage of every part of the instrument and transcends an incredibly unusual... awesome sound.
